OTHER MATERIALS

Granite Mountain Quarries offers a variety of miscellaneous materials…

Industrial Sand

  • 3/8″ minus w/fines (washed)
  • commonly used in asphalt

Industrial sand is used in the production of abrasives, absorbents, ceramics, chemicals, fracking fluid, electronics, filtration media, glass, paint, and metal castings.

Rip-Rap

  • Rip-Rap #1: 6″ to 18″
  • Rip-Rap #2: 6″ to 24″

Riprap, also known as rip rap, rip-rap, shot rock, rock armor, or rubble, is man-placed rock or other material used to armor shorelines, streambeds, bridge abutments, pilings and other shoreline structures against scour and water, wave, or ice erosion.

Riprap offers an easy-to-use method for decreasing water velocity and protecting slopes from erosion. It is simple to install and maintain. Riprap provides some water quality benefits by increasing roughness and decreasing the velocity of the flow, inducing settling.

A-Stone

  • 12″ minus
  • commonly used the same as our RIP stone but is smaller

B-Stone

  • 6″ minus
  • commonly used for backfilling wet areas and drainage ways
